New construction roof started leaking last week during a rain storm. The majority of roof leaks especially on new roofs take place around protrusions in the roof. Please have a look at these pictures and tell me if this seems like a reasonable fix for the issue. In other words skylights stack lines chimneys and valleys are the most common places to see a leak if the tiles themselves are in good shape.

Look for cracks in the base of flexible rubber flashing or broken seams in metal varieties of vent pipe flashing. Your best approach to a leak with your new roof is calm confidence rather than melodramatic mayhem. If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier between the drywall and the attic insulation push the insulation aside and look for flow stains on the plastic. A quick scan of your roof from the ground may also yield some information as well. I highly suggest finding out who manufactured the roofing panels and contacting them to try to determine whether yours were installed properly.

Even small gaps or craks on newer shingles can cause a roof leak. Spoke with the builder and he had his roofer come by. Some roof leaks are tough to locate. The rubber gasket that surrounds the vent pipe could be rotted.
